Old Florida
Spend 8 nights here in late March - early April. This is a smaller park with nice level sites, full hook-ups, great cable TV and generally shaded. Some of the sites are small and narrow, others are longer but narrow. Some of the sites are difficult to navigate because of the trees. Very friendly helpful staff, most of the seasonal residents and all of the short-term folks are friendly and helpful. Small but functional off-leash dog park with strategically located dog waste bins and bags throughout the park. Nice pool. Good docking just off the Homosassa River. Close to the Springs, two state Historic sights, many good restaurants and good grocery shopping. Laundry and washrooms are clean. Most of the campers are anglers with boats and there is fishing off the dock. I'm told this is "Old Florida" style camping and it's great. One thing though, from about 5 pm to 8 pm the gnats swarm. Otherwise, a very nice place and we would return.

Wonderful!
We love this place. Maybe not the best for kids, but perfect for us. We wanted quiet, clean and near the water. Staff is helpful, organized. Spots are full hook-up and level. Lots of trees. Pool is nice. Boat ramp, right off Homosassa. We want to return.

We were looking for a last minute spring break place to take the kids in the RV close to Tampa. I emailed and called, reserving one of the two opem sites for two nights. Pros: clean bathrooms. Nice and shady. Cable TV. River front with $10 a day canoes. Nice dock if you have a boat. People are nice, dog friendly. Off the beaten path. Cons: No playground for the kids as advertized. They said it got removed for dog run. Geared toward older snowbirds. When the web page says "fire ring" please note there is no "s." There is only one, unlike most other RV campsites. The staff did not leave me a note where to park as office is closed on Sundays. A guy in the park showed me a possible place (it was next to a very run down park trailer, that should be condemned.) Front office staff was not apologetic for lack of playground, just shrugged. It was quiet, and if you need a place to stop off of US 19. It would do fine for $40 a night. But it is not a destination. I will not return.
