Home On The Road
Have stayed many times in the off-season. RV parking area is just a long parking lot with stripes and about 18 spots. Restrooms, water, dump station make it a handy place to pull in, setup easily and rest from the road. It's dry camping made easy... We have stayed mostly in cool weather in Oct and Nov and sometimes have place completely to ourselves. It's close to Redding for shopping which is nice. It's not very scenic but that is not why we stay there...but there are beautiful hikes and short drives which are nice. We've been visited by quite a bit of wildlife so it does feel a bit in touch with nature. Like I said, a great place to catch a breath and rest from the road. We are full-time RVers so we know a good spot when we find one...

Good Enough
Stayed one night. Not enough parking to accommodate day use and overnight campers. You basically have to climb a hill no matter which spot you're in because there is no parking at your spot. There were a lot of trees and little to no bugs, but too many sites packed on to one hill with not enough privacy in between. It worked for us to set up at night and leave, but would not have wanted to stay there more than one night.
