Nice Overnight Stop

What a nice quiet place to get some good sleep. Not far off the hwy but no hwy noise. (Good truck stop with decent prices at the hwy.) After a good break and well deserved rest we enjoyed a super breakfast at the glider airport cafe before getting back on the road.

Very Quiet, Near Town

We called just before 5 since we would arrive after office closing time. A space was held for us, took care of paperwork in the morning. It was very quiet and dark (a good thing). Had an excellent breakfast at the glider port next door.

Camping By The Glider Port.

We have just spent 3 days at the park. Basic, but clean and well run. Showers, laundry and toilets open 8am to 10:30 pm. No WiFi, broadcast tv limited. Staff was great. I would stay there again.

Needs Nicer Clerk

Called to make a reservation for 4 days. Asked what the cancellation policy was and she snapped at me, "Why do you think you will be unhappy?" I was taken aback and said my sister lives nearby and if we dont like something, I'll just stay on her property. She said, "By all means, stay at your sisters!" I almost hung up on her, but this campground was convenient to where we wanted to go so I took a deep breath. Then she said if we cancelled by 12, she would ok it. I told her fine, we would take it for 4 days. She said she would prefer if we did it day by day because of the costs for her to do a card cancellation. I said no problem. I gave her all the info over the phone, then my husband had to fill out all the paperwork when we got there anyway. Sites nice and long. The grass by the office needed to be mowed and there were signs all over about picking up after your dog. We ended up staying 3 days, and went to my sisters early. Birds were so loud we couldn't sleep from 4:30to 6:30 AM.

Overnight is fine , you can reserve flight gliding next door at airport. $38 with good sam.

Came in after 7:30pm we were able to find our spot and get settled in. It would’ve been a bit easier if they had lighted numbers. All in all a nice location.

Peaceful

Enjoyed one night here before the first snow. Loved how quiet it was and enjoyed watching the gliders. Saw a coyote cross the airfield. Nothing fancy but the peaceful atmosphere is worth coming back for!

Easy in-n-out, and very friendly. Just 1 night and would definitely stop here again.

We stayed here last night feb.16th 2018 on way home from desert. Neat clean small RV park right opposite glider airport. It was very quiet and perfect for one night. A bit pricy for no Internet and tv reception. $30 There are only about 25 sites well maintained and flat. The special treat was being able to walk to the little Airport for a delicious hot breakfast! There is a great Laundry room on site as well as very clean restrooms with showers. Another plus is about 1/2 mile on way back to main highway is a brand new truck stop with decent prices on fuel.

Very good for our overnight stop. Clean and well maintained. When ever we come this way we well stay. Only 4 stars, my wife is the only perfect thing.

Great So Far

We've been her for minutes, but it's quiet and clean. Already a favorite destination. No unruly kids running everywhere like Red Rock State Park.

Nice Park

We stayed here Oct 8 & 9, 2017. With Good Sam discount was $27 per day. We called while driving to check for available spots and Staff was very nice. Verizon 4G with four bars. VERY close to Mountain Valley Airport, I'm a pilot so this was really cool. You can watch gliders being towed into the air. This is a typical RV parking situation with all pull thrus. Numerous large rigs. Level spots. We noticed people started stopping and getting spots around 3:30 in the afternoon. This park is MUCH BETTER than Brite Lake Campground! We would stay here again. Typical Tahachapi weather.....WINDY!

Awesome

This is a fantastic RV park, wish they had free wifi but can't complain. Easy on and off, not too crowded, reasonable price, very clean showers and secluded. The small town has a quaint downtown area. The German bakery is a must to try!

Best Stay Yet!

What a peaceful & quiet, comfortable 3 nights! Sites are easy to access, very level & spaced out nicely. Fun to watch gliders be towed up & land right 'next door'. Would definitely stay here again just not in the winter time tho.

A Gem

This is a very nice campground next to a small private airport. It has very clean facilities and friendly hosts. We marvelled at the activity of the ravens and hawks. We watched small planes practicing landings and take offs. There is a nice little restaurant at airport nearby.

Great Place To Stay

This is a wonderful place to stay. Nice and quiet. Clean showers. Laundry. Very nice staff. Bonus is the nearby glider company that you get to watch taking off and landing. Or take a ride for yourself!

Yes, we would definitely plan to stay here again! Beautiful open view near a small country airport; heard coyotes at night, saw the stars. Quiet and not too tightly packed together. Lots of restaurant choices. Visit Kohnen's Bakery while you are in town.

Super Quiet

Checked in around 3pm and used the showers. Very nice and clean. Close to town and food and shopping. Got back before dark and enjoyed sitting outside. Friendly staff. Would gives 5 stars if they had sewer hookup. Did have nice sewer dump site.
