Vacation buy-out On July 15, 2012, the Sacramento Bee newspaper reported that the Deputy Director of Administration at California State Parks had orchestrated $271,000 in vacation buy-outs for himself and 55 other administrative employees. A vacation buy out allows one to be paid today for vacation time that would otherwise be used in the future or cashed-out at retirement. While vacation buy-outs are allowed, these buy-outs were reported to have been done secretly.[12] Hidden funds Following the vacation buy-out scandal of 2012, the department revealed that two accounts were discovered totaling $54 million that had been hidden for 12 years. One fund was for the Off Highway Vehicle division and one for the state park division. This scandal resulted in the immediate resignation of the director and firing of the acting chief deputy director.[12]. And the same thing is still happening

No Privacy
Very little trees or scenery separating the campsites especially on a holiday weekend. We had a garbage bin and recycle bin right in our Campground. Stay away from site 103. Did have hot water but probably a better spot midweek rather than holiday weekend

We loved this place first time visiting, we ended up staying three days. Would definitely go back for longer time, perfect setting for camping surrounded with trees. Good for biking, hiking, kayaking or just relaxing! July 2018

Great Place
The campground is great, the town is picturesque but to stop the generators at 8pm is over the top. 10 pm is the norm, I could even understand 9pm but 8pm is way too early. We need to charge the batteries for at least 2 hours.

Best Out Of All Nearby
At first we were a little disappointed being new to RVing but lots of wooded sites even though a lot are close together. Lots to do here and areas to walk. Pretty trails. I would recommend this place and come again

A Great Place To Stay
One of our favorite getaways. Clean place, friendly staff, close to town and beach. You need a reservation.
