The Good, Bad And The Ugly…
First, the good- this is walking distance to the ocean in California and it is one of the best beaches around Mendocino and you have a parking place, that explains a lot about this park. The tent camping areas are superb, choose wisely because when they say group, they really mean a lot of cars and tents, but I saw tent spaces that were truly beautiful. There is a Saturday or Sunday concert series sometimes, that’s really good.
The bad- high cost, charge you for everything.
The ugly- tightest rv spaces possible with no angular spots, making a wide turn is a must, but, monster trucks abound. Take your time and ask people to help, everyone was very nice, staff very helpful but I saw a nasty tail gate can opener wreck by making a too tight turn. Fire pits are going to be really close to your rv.
Kids really have nothing but gravel to play on by the rvs, beach is close, plan on using it. There is a nice kids play area but is away from immediate supervision from most camping.

Caspar
Biggest problem there is the sites are really close together. I mean close. Our back in site was at the back of the park on the circle and we were about a foot apart. The best thing was the staff. They were friendly and very helpful. Probably wouldn't go back.

Nice Beach Across The Street
We stayed three nights. I loved walking on Caspar State Beach which is right across the street. In February it was not very busy. But, it was muddy. Sites are close together. There are tent sites and little cabins.
Close to Cabrillo Lighthouse. Easy to drive to Mendocino and Fort Bragg.
My brother and sister have both stayed here in the past and liked it.

Way Too Tight!
Yes, the beach is great right across the street... bathrooms are clean. But the RV sites are so dang tight, we could barely fit our small RV into the site! We could not use the picnic table that was at the back of the site because in order to fit, we had to back right into it. And forget about the side... you really do get to know your neighbors very quickly. Absolutely no grass but rocks and sand all around the park. Cars are lined up by the sites... with barely room to get through causing accidents almost every day... It truly felt like we were camping in a Walmart lot!! Since we had prepaid for a week and no refunds for early departure, we had to make due. Will never recommend!!

The place is nice, the staff friendly, but these are the smallest rv spots we’ve ever been to and we have been cross country. We saw a rv wreck every night we were there. Large rv’s beware. You cant put awnings out all the way and even some slide outs touch. Tent spaces are way bigger. Won’t go there again.

Was the best. Very welcoming and extremely helpful. You will enjoy the surrounding area. You will not be disappointed camping here. Full hookups.

The Beach Was Cool
We picked this place as we were passing through the area after seeing Glass Beach in Fort Bragg. Just as the last reviewer not what I was expecting from reviewing the website. Also, you are super close to your neighbors. The bathrooms were clean and i thought it was lame you had to pay for the showers, especially since we already paided a lot of money for the one night. It was nice having the beach across the street. Overall it wasn't a bad place as we were passing through.

$46
The location of the park is great, just across the street from Caspar Beach. The park's staff are very friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms and showers are private and clean, but be prepared to pay for showers ($1.25 for 7 minutes, quarters only). The laundry room is nice with 3 washers and 3 driers. There are cabins for rent and numerous tent camping sites. The lots are extremely close to one another to where you could almost be sharing the same picnic area. This is great for group campers, but if by yourself, you will definitely get to know your neighbor. Full hookup sites have 30amps, water, sewer and numerous channels on cable. I would recommend this park to people passing through.

Caspar Beach RV Park
Not what was expected from the web site. Bathrooms were not cleaned all day! Large bicycle group taking 1/3 of the area and we were not informed of them ahead of time.
Sites were level and usable but just ok.
