Camp Pendleton Campgrounds

The campgrounds is very affordable and we enjoy going there. However, grounds upkeep is not very good. ALL “grassy” areas are covered in burr clover, which dies in the early summer and gets onto everything. The stairs from the upper campground down to the beach are overgrown, leaving a narrow path in the center of the stairs to walk down. Beware of the electrical system for RV hookups. The voltage is not stable and can lead to damaged plugs. My 30 amp surge suppressor and RV plug have been burned/melted and I must replace them. This was most likely caused by a low voltage situation, which a surge protector will not correct. Mowed areas have clippings left on them, other areas fox tail weeds. The staff are very nice.

MLK Weekend January 2020.

Another Amazing Camping trip with family and friends. We stayed at the bluff spot for three nights and had a blast. Bathrooms and showers were clean and the place was full of friendly campers. Got to sip my morning coffee while watching the dolphins and seals swim up and down the coast. Can’t wait to come back.

Absolutely love this place. Very clean beach and facilities, affordable, pet friendly. And you can drink on the beach...totally legal here not like other beaches in CA. I will be back for sure.

You can't beat the price or location. The only reason not 5 stars is because the showers and restrooms are HORRIBLE!
