A Hidden Gem!
As an Arizona native, I'd never heard of this state park before. It is a wonderful place to camp. Right off the freeway, but still far enough away, and close to Winslow so one can enjoy the small town's offerings. The Hopi ruins are not spectacular but the history is amazing. This is a great place to overnight along your journey and/or spend some time exploring. Nice visitor center and friendly and knowledgeable park rangers.

Great Place
I never knew this park was here. I spent 2 days exploring the park and surrounding area. Great campground, clean bathrooms, roomy sites. Would stay here again and again and again

One Of My Favorite Parks
Super easy access to I-40. Nice trails, Interesting history, and nice sites. We stayed two nights because we needed a relax day. This was the perfect spot for relaxing. I will definitely stay again.

Conveniently Off I-40 and Clean
Very nice area overlooking desert scenery. Lots of history to investigate and quite dark for star gazing. Bathrooms were clean although showing their age. Dump station is nice with water spigot at the sites. Both electric and non-electric sites available. Few are 50Amp. Very little shade and the winds often keep you from using your awning. Regardless, Very nice. Minutes from Winslow.

Quiet And Spred Out
Not much shade, some small trees growing. The shower area needs a lot of work. The bathroom was fine. Double sided dumpsite.

Quiet And Relaxing
Stayed 1 night on a road trip. Made a reservation online a few days prior. Arrived after hours and easily located my site. The site was more than enough space for my truck with in bed truck camper. The bathroom was clean, and the individual shower rooms are very large. In the morning, I enjoyed the beautiful view of the wide open space. Very clean campground.

Awesome!!
We stopped here for one night on our way through. It was an awesome desert park. The park was amazingly clean.... i wondered if they swept the roads. The grills and fire pits were do clean. The sites were paved and wide. Extremely easy to fit the vehicles in. We will definitely stay here again.

Dark Sky!
We arrived after the visitors center closed so used self check-in. There were two non-reserved spots left so we took one. There were also two reserved but vacant spots that were still empty in the morning. The bathrooms and showers were clean, and the shower felt wonderful. The skies were gloriously dark despite our proximity to town. We saw shooting stars. $25 for 30 amp hookups.

Very good stay here I've been here for two weeks, and have really enjoyed it. Very peaceful and quiet. Warm days, cool nites. Bathrooms alittle crude, but acceptable. Love campgrounds.

Awesome In The Fall
Stopped twice within a 2 week period. Stopped for a night on my way to Tempe. Stopped for 3 nights on way home from Grand Canyon. Hope to be back. Water gets shut off in early November. Fill up at dump stations before setting up camp.

Great Park!
Paved, very spacious sites. If you're into Indian ruins, you'll love this place. Also, very close to Meteor Crater and Petrified Forest. Be aware that this area, as well as a long stretch of I-40, is extremely windy! You won't be putting out your awning or having a campfire.

Fantastic Park
Sites paved and spaced out nicely. Quiet. Nice metal picnic table, grill, and fire ring- all in nice condition. Bathrooms clean. Ruins interesting to see. Went to Petrified Forest NP and Meteor Crater.

Peaceful With Great Stargazing and Quiet
Stayed in site 34. Water/electric hookups with dump station in front. Park is a dark sky park so very few lights if you get here after dark. Great park events with monthly star parties where they open up their observatory and others come with their scopes. Also got to tour the Homolovi IV ruins as part of our camping fee. Access to Petrified Forest, Meteor Crater, and Winslow with gas and Walmart nearby. Great stay overall. Verizon on phones only got 1-2 Mbps down and ATT hotspot was less than 1 Mbps most of the time. Bathrooms were clean and Showers available though they did ask to keep showers to under 5 min due to water main issue. Space heater was setup in the bathroom due to cold front moving in during our stay.

Great Park!
This is a great park with well maintained facilities, roads and trails. Rangers are professional and welcoming, with lots of information about the park and ruins. The location is great too with a Walmart within four miles if you need something, and a great coffee hose Mojo Coffee and Expresso. Will be back!

Acceptable
The park is in the process of repairing the roadways. Tar is everywhere at expansion joints and cracks. And it gets on your tires that attract gravel and... Anyway, bad timing. Not a bad park. You can hear the hum of I-40 and trains. That said, I slept well. Bathrooms are ok. Just a handful of 50a sites which gets the $30/night cost. Now if you get here during business hours you can't just find an "unoccupied" site. You'll need to go to the Visitor Center and have the Ranger assign you a space. After hours, read the sign as you enter the campground and follow the instructions. Good distance between neighbors. To the neighbor with the bright led ropes, thanks for ruining the dark sky viewing in your direction.

Views, Stars, Peace & Quite
Wonderful place to stay. Accommodates cozy tent to homes on wheels with tow! Lots of pull throughs. Pretty, clean and roomy camp sites. Heads up... it's deliciously dark after the sun goes down, so if your unfamiliar with the campground you might want to arrive before sunset. There's only one bathroom with showers that's an easy walk for most. If you need a shorter distance there's plenty sites much closer. The bathrooms are spotless. There's not a lot of shade for the Summer camper but nothing your awning or umbrella can't fix. Lots of interesting archeology sites and trails to hike. A short drive to town for amenities. You'll get a good night's sleep here and leave a happy camper.

Very Nice
Pulled in tonight for a one night stay. Saw a beautiful sunset and storm clouds in the distance. Over all this is a very clean park and well kept. Sites a fairly level with all amenities except sewer, but there is a dump station. Definitely hope to return for a longer stay.

Quiet Camping Between Local Attractions
This campground is just 1 mile from I40 but you would not know it! A well thought out camp; each site has an RV parking spot, plus side space for awning, slide, etc, with picnic table, grill and fire ring (when fires permitted). Some are 30amp, some are 50amp ($25/$30 respectively). The restroom/showers are clean and spacious and a dump station/potable water are supplied on site. Well located just outside Winslow (and it's corner!), and close to Meteor Crater, Petrified Forest, Hopi Ruins, etc. Good value, quiet, safe and clean!

Nice
Very quiet, clean. We enjoyed the walks to the ruins. Mid May so it's hot and no shade. If you can sit in the shade (awning) and there is a breeze, it's very comfortable. We went into winslow to "Stand on the Corner "

Nice wide open camp ground. You don’t feel like your neighbors are too close. Clean restrooms and showers. Didn’t get a chance to view the ruins. Next time with my wife and dogs.

Great Desert Site For Camping
The facilities were clean and well kept. The site was perfect for our trailer unit and the accommodation for all size unit was just right. Will stop there again.

Very peaceful!
Spent a couple of days, lots of park roads to bike on. And a few hiking trails too. We stayed in early October, temps not bad, clear skies. Close to Winslow too. Park also has a few pull through sites, easy to navigate. Clean facilities with showers. Could hear coyotes at night and the sound of distant trains!

Disappointed
Visiting the ruins is interesting but the campground was one of the worst I've ever stayed at. Crumbling asphalt uneven sites, unheated bathrooms (temp was 40°F), faucet at our site leaked. I had made reservations and prepaid for two nights. We checked in at the visitor center then as we were setting up, some grumpy old woman on a 4 wheeler drove up and demanded we stop and show her our registration. Very rude, didn't identify herself until I asked.

Nice park
After a hard day of driving in the Arizona winds this park was a welcome sight. We arrived late after the office closed but didn't have any problems getting into a site. There not any shade to speak of but that made for better star gazing and let me tell you, you could see the stars! We didn't use their restrooms but they were clean. It was close enough to Winslow AZ that we could go "stand on the corner". What fun and memories... We went to the office when they opened the next morning and paid. We took a survey and two weeks later we got a complementary two nights at any AZ State Park. Unfortunately we never had the opportunity to use them. We would definitely stop there again!
