Not Ten X Anymore
Our go to spot for cheap camping near GCNP. For some reason they’ve changed the name, but they also have added a lot more campsites. We always get a spot here, although the camp host told me that Memorial Day weekend was packed. We just stayed in the “Elk Loop”, an area that is for first come first serve campers like us. Brand new vault toilets, and big, nearly level spots with new fire rings and tables, all for $20 a night (or $10 with access or senior discounts).

Would Stay Again
Stayed in Elk loop 3 nights. Very quiet, vault toilets were clean. Campground loop was about half full. Only a few miles south of Grand Canyon. You can shower, dump and do laundry by Mather Point Campground. Showers $2.50 for 5 min. Very clean. Laundry $2.50 a load, dry $1.50. Busy area but lots of machines and showers. Definitely stay here again!

Relaxing
Stayed here May 21st thru 23rd. Nice spacious sites. Plenty room for larger rigs. Double sites if you need one. Restrooms were clean. Easy access to GC park. Elk roam through quite often. Definitely worth a return visit.

Site 8
Great campground 4 miles before Grand Canyon Village off highway 64. Large pull through sites with picnic tables and fire rings, some with barbecues. Lots of shade from tall pines. Potable water available. Fee is $20/ night but use your senior pass or national park pass and get half off. Reservations recommended, only a few first come first serve available and they go early in the day. Check with host for any cancellations. Restrooms also on site but didn’t use.

Proposed Fee Increases 2020
You can leave your comments via email to joseph.maatman@usda.gov and they list https://www.fs.usda.gov/kaibab as having additional information.
Proposed changes are for single sites to go from $10/night to $24/night. Other increases are being considered.
Campground closes October 8 for the season.
We're in a 38' Class A and picked #58 as it had the least interference from trees for sunlight to run the solar. There are several pull-throughs that could handle even a 45' DP with pull behind. Fill your water holding tank before arriving. While there are water spigots the signs indicate the USFS has to haul the water in and it's only to fill small containers. The spigots are also located 100'+ away from the roadside so good luck reaching that far.
We parked at the Tusayan airport to unhook the toad to do a recon of this campground before pulling in.
Ocassional plane/helicopter noise, but not too bad. Slept well. Bathrooms are acceptably clean, but not spotless. VZ 3/4G 1-2 bars.

Quiet campground with paved roads. It has clean pit toilets, trash dumpsters and community water spigots. Each site has fire ring, picnic table and outdoor park style cooking grill. There were large piles of free firewood. We stayed 8 nights for only 40.00 with park access pass. Campground is located about 4 miles south of Grand Canyon south entrance. This is an awesome place.

Great Value
Nicely tucked away. Great sites with tables and fire pits. Vault toilets. Sites are spread out so you're not on top of your neighbors. Clean and well maintained. Will certainly stay again. Close to Tusayan and South Entrance.

Awesome Camping Close To GC
Beautiful campsite that at $10 is a really good alternative to the super busy campsites in the natl pk.
It is located around 1 mile from Tusayan in established forest and the sites are very spacious.
The best thing for us was only 1/3 of the campground is available for advance reservations so if you have forgotten to book a site as long as you arrive before lunch you should have a good chance to find a spot.
All sites have tables and fire pits, toilets are clean and there are a few water taps through the campsite.
Loved it.
