Great Place
Everything else was full. Nice quiet spot. No complaints. The sign coming in says no camping but that is because it is in the state park. keep driving and once you hit the cattle guard your in the forest land and no problem

Great Dispersed Camping
Very close to canyon.
We had a 28' rv and no issues. Even had to turn around several times as we were looking for a perfect site.
As you turn in its about 1-2miles to beginning of area, past first cattle guard. If you pass second then you went too far. On map it's a left turn but sites start way earlier.
Lots of firewood around. Decent fire rings.
No hookups obviously....

This road is closed with a locked gate. You can access other forest roads on the north and south side of Tusayan for dispersed camping.

Our Favorite Site Yet
We were shocked to find a National Forest road that we could easily maneuver with a 26’ travel trailer and pickup. VERY secluded and private! By far my favorite place that we’ve camped!! Would love to be able to do life like this. We will be on the lookout for more National Forests for sure.

Dispersed Site
Lots of spots to camp in we were able to park relatively easily with our 26' trailer and truck. Some berms on the edge of the road, keep an eye out for them. Road has a good turn around point at the lookout tower.
When you initially turn down the road you will see a no camping sign. Keep driving until you pass the Kaibab forestry sign and you can camp from that point on. Lots of little fire rings dispersed throughout.
Traffic in and out is steady but not disruptive. Wild life present so best to keep dogs on leash.
