Knoll Lake is spacious. Plenty of campgrounds and very spaced out. It’s a drive though. Once you get on the dirt road, it’s a bit rough and slow. Just the dirt road portion is 20+ miles and will take an hour. But this is what makes it less crowded. The views off Rim road are spectacular on the drive up. But keep your eyes on the road! Some parts are narrow with steep cliffs on the other side. The lake is picturesque but small. Moderate success fishing. No toilets, dump stations, utilities etc. A place to get away from people and experience nature.
