30ft. Length Limit Misleading
Not all sites can accommodate 30’.....some are sized more for an A-Liner/pop-up trailer while others can accommodate 28-30’ trailer. The website does not give length for each site like it does for many other campgrounds. We had site #31 and could not fit our 28’ TT as there was a giant Cedar tree right at the rock line. The campground host was very helpful in directing us to dispersed camping which was far better anyways.

No Spaces
We got there late around 6pm and did not found any spots available. We have a 20ft rv and we thought the spaces were too small. We ended up just parking at the visitor center next door with other campers and had no issues.

Amazing Staff And Other Campers
Long story short: got to the camp very late but there were a couple of spots open. Got one and began setting up the tent and then got hit with altitude sickness. Wife called Park Rangers (well, they worked in the park). An awesome young lady from Germany came to help as well. I felt fine almost immediately afterwards but no one listened to me and instead listened to my amazing wife. Ambulance showed up and checked me out BP was low, heart was fine, sugar was fine, and evening’s excitement was concluded.
As for the campground, it was quiet, cool and the “facilities” were close enough to walk to and clean. The park staff are friendly and were very kind. They stayed with us and kept my wife as calm as possible.
As a cautionary tale, if you are pushing 50, fairly overweight, don’t eat for several hours, come from an area of the country that’s 7000 feet lower than this campground and then try and to set a macho speed record for setting up a tent, take my advice and take it slow instead.

Quiet And Close To Canyon
Clean restrooms, paved parking, picnic tables, fire rings; bring your own firewood, but only two water spigots in campground. If you’re older, walking anywhere is out of the question, it’s easier by car. I was able to pick up 6 digital TV channels using boost. Also arrive early, was full by 5 pm second day here. And note, most sites are back-in and tight, so if you have 25-30 footer, you’d better be here early. Longer pull-through fills quickly. Trees and rocks make it too tight for any camper over 30’. Cell phone are on roaming, check with you carrier, AT&T stopped my internet after first day; girlfriend’s Verizon could not receive calls. Closest dump is 26 miles at Mather campground. No propane fill within 50 miles, so top off before coming here, snowed here second day was beautiful but roads where bad. Very close to Grand Canyon and very easy access to all views along highway 64. Costs were cheap, $6 per night for Senor Pass, note no cash, must have debt, or credit card, easy to use

Nice, clean comfortable campground. It did have a little bit of a pretentious feel to it.... sites are close together (very) and felt odd with our fire going past nine and the kids out playing. We had camped on BLM land prior, and appreciate solitude when camping, it’s kinda the point?
Easy walk to the canyon/tower. Clean restrooms.
Bring firewood.
Booze/food/ supplies available at the general store by the tower.
Showers/laundry at the mathers camp site.

Beautiful and Convenient Campground
Easy walk to the Grand Canyon Desert View Watchtower, Trading Post, Café, Market and gas station. Easy access for RV's up to 30 foot. First in first served so plan to arrive by midday/early afternoon as it fills up fast. Leashed pets allowed, no hook ups or showers, but drinking water and flush toilets available. Ranger was very nice and informative. Our cheapest and most enjoyable stop so far.
