Awesome Alabama State Park & Campground
Easy to book online. Stayed here for 2 weeks in June, in a 40”ft fifth wheel, with a Dooley. Site 33 was difficult to back in, nice gravel site, water and electric hook up. Dump station is easy to use & on the way out. A few sites have FHU. No WiFi with T-Mobile or Starlink. Hit or miss with a Hotspot….Lots of tree coverage. It rained many days, but we were still able to use the trails that weren’t muddy. Liked the State Park guard gate and coded entrance at night. Office and campground store have souvenirs and basics. Friendly staff, and camp hosts onsite. Bathhouse clean, no AC but hot water. Only 1 washer and dryer. Love the overlook and roads, Safe to ride bikes on. Saw many deer, and a young buck returned to our campsite many evenings! Nice Playground at the State Park, and sooo many trails. Trail and Park map received at check in. Located Approx. 20 minutes from Huntsville. Many insects including ticks, mosquitoes, & ants at our site, so come prepared.

Nice Campground!
We camped here for a week. Clean bath house. We had 50A and water at our site, however, some sites are full hook-up. We will definitely camp here again.

Nice Park
This was home base for visiting the Space Center. Nice, quiet place to relax. Great views of the foothills. No mosquitoes at this altitude. If you have camped in the South, the mosquito thing is worth 5 stars. Seriously considering making this a yearly trip.
