4 Days
We enjoyed our stay at Gulf State Park. The lots were large and level. Had picnic table plenty of parking for toad We used the pool area, laundry and the beach pier. Close to activity and places to eat. Took several road trips to Florabama, Destin and Pensacola.

Wonderful Stay
We spent 8 days in mid October the weather was perfect, warm days in the high 70's and low 80's very little rain one day. We spent one day at the beach, other days spent shopping, and dining at some very nice restaurants, long walks in the park and a bit of relaxing. This is by far the best state park we have ever camped at, we stay mainly at state parks but even compared to a local "luxury RV park" this place is so much nicer and a lot less expensive.
They have almost 500 sites all with full hookups and great wifi, we were able to stream YouTube TV in our motorhome with no problems.
Cell phone service was excellent on Verizon. We are planning to come back next year around the same time already booking a site. GSP is the best! Alabama has a lot to be proud of here.

Outstanding State Park
So much better than the average state park. Close to the beach, great hiking trails, wildlife, pool, wi-fi, full hookups, paved and level campsites, and so much more.
The only negatives would be the lack of shade (must get really hot in the summer) and no fire pits (you have to bring your own raised fire pit). Other than that this was our favorite camping experience in a long time.

Call Ahead And Check for Open Amenities
I checked their website before and after arriving and according to the latest information (Nov 1st) there was limited availability of bathhouses. ALL bathhouses are closed, not just the ones getting renovated. After walking the entire campground area I found the only restrooms open are 2 stalls at the laundry/store area and the ones located inside the pool. No one mentioned this when I checked in. However, this place is awesome. Great sites and amenities at a very fair price, especially if you are fully contained.

Our favorite Place
It is by far the best park. So much to do! If you want to stay you better plan due to the park being extremely popular.

Great State Park
Stayed 3 night and 2 days in site 474. We were impressed! Site was paved and pull through. We were right across from the trail that went to the beach. You definitely need your bike here! We saw an alligator and a snake within our first 12 hours on site. The only cons were the smell from the marsh outside our door and the number of bikes often make for a hard time to navigate the park in your vehicle. This was our first time in the Gulf Shores area and we are not into the touristy stuff. Lots of people and traffic! This is a great park though!

Gulf State Park
We called and had no problem at all getting a spot. People cancel. Park is in great shape w a lot of activities. Plenty to do and see. This is a great place. Everything positive.

What About Locals Trying To Reserve
It’s impossible to use this campsite because it’s taken over by full time monthly renters who just park their RV here to use as an escape from winter in their Northern Home. This is not fair to our locals paying taxes. I try all the time to try to find a spot even 6 months out and they are reserved. Not fair just saying

Amazing State Park...Way To Go Alabama!
This place is well taken care of. You can bike everywhere! Every structure looks brand new. Lots of things to do... Bike, run, beach, giant pool, nature exhibits, restaurants, pier. Campsites are wonderful. Hot in the summer, very little shade... Would recommend getting a spot on the lake for some breeze. Avoid the pull thru sites on the main street... Very busy!! Only some campsites have Wi-Fi

Great Stay
We had the best vacation! We wanted to extend a night and had to move. Not sites were amazing. The entire place is so well kept. The bicycle trails were well kept and our kids had the best time riding to the pool and to the beach. The staff that we met were all very nice. We were here 5 nights and are already ready to go back! Highly recommend.

Just Beautiful
This is our first time here and this park is AMAZING!! We are on a waterfront site of the middle lake area and its huge on a cement slab that is perfectly level! Not as much foliage on this spot but we dont mind. Boardwalks are outstanding. And the beach is just beautiful. So much to do here. Pool looks quite big and clean. Bath houses are very clean and have good water pressure. Laundry. Tennis courts. Camp store and rentals. Staff was very nice and efficient. Park is well kept. Stores and restaurants close enough in the area. We will be coming here again for sure.

Family Time At It’s Best
We stayed here on Thanksgiving week. We took a family bike ride on many of the bike trails with the sceneries along the way it didn’t feel like exercise! I recommend you take your family on a bike ride or just a walk thru these trails. They have bathrooms and picnic areas on the bike paths to stop and relax enjoying the nature and family time!!!

This is an amazing state park! We stayed on site 237 right on a lake and only a short walk/ drive from the ocean. They have everything here. More like a resort than a state park, but still has big flat sites. We will definitely stay here again! We didn’t see any gators, but heard they are around. He laundromat is awesome!!

Great State Park
Our first trip out of state was to Gulf State Park. We stayed 5 days on gator road. They have many amenities all well cleaned and cared for. Concrete pads that are level and spacious. Plenty of space in between sites. Beautiful views of the lakes. Really nice pool and splash pad. A nature center and campstore. Boat ramp and docks on lake. Nice clean laundry facility. Many nice boardwalks and close enough to walk to the beach if wanted to.

This was my husband and my first visit to Gulf Stste Park. It is a beautiful Park. The camper/RV pads were spacious and private enough. There are water, electric and sewer hookups. There is plenty to do and convenient to the beach. The only downside was that we wished we had a few more days to stay. We will be back soon! Plan ahead because the Park stays booked!

First Class!
I’ve just pulled into my driveway — 18 hrs and 1006 miles from the park. I asked my wife in kids if we should just pull back out and head straight back. We all said YES.
Everything about this park is what RV CAMPING at the beach should be. Great people, great sites, great fun
We’ve camped In the Black Hills, SD, Mackinac Island MI, Gatlinburg TN, Wisconsin Dells... this park is by far the best one I’ve stayed in.
If you are considering go here. BOOK IT!!!!

Great State Park
This is a great state park to stay at. It is very close to most everything that you will need or want to do along the coast. If you are a fisherman/fisherwoman, the state pier is only about a 5-8 minute drive from the Campground. Orange beach is about 15-30 minutes east with tons of tourist attractions. Gulf shores main Pkwy is about 10 minutes from the park west with all sorts of souvenir shops and attractions. The park itself is nice overall. The bathhouses could use updating but compared to other state run facilities we have experienced, this one is well kept and clean. There are a lot of nice trails to ride for bike enthusiast and there is also a fresh water lake for those that like to bring their boats for fishing. BEWARE there are alligators everywhere around this area as they are a protected species and constantly populating! If you have animals be EXTREMELY cautious of walking them around/near any water source. We will definitely be planning a trip back to this park!!

Great Place & Plenty to Do!
Very well maintained slots! Our and all the ones we saw as we walked and biked the park were concrete with a good sized out cropping for a picnic table. Ours was spot on level and a never saw another trailer using leveling blocks. The pool and tennis courts make for fun activities. The free peir access is great even if you just watch people fish. The beach area is very well maintained. Definitely coming back here, but make your reservations early!

Great Place To Visit!
We stayed here from the end of April to early May and we could not have gotten any better weather! We have stayed at many parks and this one takes the cake. Clean bathrooms with shower facilities, AMAZING biking trails, friendly staff, clean park, near the beach, near every thing you could want from food, to stores, to things to do! Coming out of am Ohio winter, this place was just what the doctor ordered!

We absolutely love the park. The staff is extremely helpful and nice. It was easy to get in here and set up with in just a few minutes. Comes with a free pass to go to the pier and the Beach Pavilion.

Great Destination
As a destination, this place is awesome! It is a beautiful, large park with several paved bike trails and things to do. A beach bike with a basket, 3-speed, can be rented at the Nature Center for $25 a day.
The park backs up to paved bicycle/hiking nature trails that can take one several miles. They go past the 3 lakes and go as far as Orange Beach, about 5 miles away, and go through Palmetto Palm, Live Oak trees with hanging Spanish moss, Longleaf Pine, etc.
The beach is about 2 miles away and staying at the park also gives you access to the beach and its pier.
There are over 450 RV sites but only 11 tent sites. I find it humorous there are signs all over to watch out for alligators but the tent sites sit on a canal. The bathroom is a 3-minute walk, though it is flush toilets, showers, and stays a clean facility. I never saw anyone in there. I think the RVs have their own bath and sewer. Also, I could not find a water spigot for the campsite.

Nice Park, Lot Of Walking.
Very big. Everything needs a car or bike to get to. Pleasant surroundings, fairly level sites. No wifi, a bummer. Can't control the rain, but some sun would have been. Then I wouldn't care about wifi.
