Camp sites r small not to good for large RVs but everything was clean, showers, bath rooms, can walk to the beech, probably would be a problem if it was raining flat and not much rock. I will go back I hope.

Enjoyed the island and the campground. Next to ferry, fort and aquarium. Had decent size lot (2) right near playground. Weather wasn’t best for fishing but beach area was short walk could have surf fished. Did fish the pier before the island couple times. Friendly staff. Nice bath houses and laundry area. Kid and pet friendly.

Tight Spots, Does Not Drain Well
If it rained, you might have to wear your rubber boots to walk around your rig.... A lot of sites get flooded when it rains. Very tight spots, nice nature trail.

Our Happy Place
Once again another fabulous week at DI campground. Love the shaded spots (80% of campsites are shaded), huge beautiful oak trees, palm trees, huge magnolia trees, and very tall pine trees, level sites, full hook-ups. Quiet, serene, short walking distance to beach, Estuarium, ferry boat, Bird Sanctuary, boat launch, and Ft. Gaines. Clean restrooms, A/C in laundry room. Staff friendly, helpful. Only few permanent residents, others are seasonal (4 mos. Summer, 2-4 month winter). Works out great, campground very quiet during week. Rates are VERY reasonable! Island has great paved bike trails, safe for whole family to ride on. Will continue to be back time and time again!

Sites Are Tight
A great location. Sites are level. We had full hookups. Staff is friendly. Beach access, short walk. There are many long term campers here. About half the sites are very cramped and not too esthetically pleasing. The other sites are more roomy with better trees, but these are set aside for the regulars. Shower house is new and well maintained.

Next To Ferry
Most RVs are permanent residents. Yiks not paradise!! Our site is so small no room for truck. Can’t open awning! So bad.
