Small But Friendly
Site with water and AC are tight but off grid sites are very large. You are just steps from the canel, able to watch boaters pass through the locks. The free wifi and firewood is a bonus for the reasonably rates. Not many spots but all back onto the canel and the Campground location is great for strolling or biking in eclectic town of Merrickville.

Hidden Gem
What a great park! Every small historical town should have such a reasonably priced, central campground within walking distance to town. $27 tax included for a grassed site right next to the canal (more if you need power, which we dont). Complete with fire ring, picnic table and fire wood. Watch boats pass by within feet of your site. Super friendly staff. And non profit. Wow!!!

Lots are very tight. Arrived at campground and lot not vacated. Was informed to take another lot which we did and was told to move. After setting up was asked to move again as lots we're not clearly defined

Nice Spot In Historic Merrickville
Situated in the heart of Merrickville this Lions Club campground has sites situated just a few feet off the channel leading to (or away from) the Merrickville locks on the World Heritage Rideau Canal. This is not a large park but has sites with water and 50 and 30 amp service plus unserviced sites. The sites are grass and while they can be a bit muddy in spots during wet weather they are kept in good repair. Staff are helpful and pleasant. Free firewood is on offer but it is scrap and will be wet after rain. Bring your own for the supplied fire pits. There are many places to visit in this historic town ( don't miss Nanna B's award winning butter tarts) including a museum beside the locks in a bloc house built to defend the canal. 50 amp sites are $50.00, 30 amp sites $40.00 a night and unserviced sites are $27.00. Deductions for longer stays. Clean washroom and showers are available. A key is issued to customers for a small deposit. There is a dump station. We stayed in class A rv.
