Wonderful
Great place. Been going for years. Check the weather before you go though. Wind can knock the power out.

Overall this is a nice place to camp. The location is remote and wooded, which I enjoy. The site we were in was a little difficult to get to. We were to come down Pine Ln which had a relatively sharp turn with a tree that stuck out. Our site was pull through but there was no way we would be able to swing it in without swiping a tree so we ended up pulling around and backed into the site. Full disclosure: we have a 27' TT and pull it with a extended cab truck with long bed, so our wheel base doesn't help our turning radius. The site was super unlevel. We used two packs of leveling blocks and had to get more. The parkway was closed when we came so we had to use 56 from the east. It is narrow and curvy, but doable. I would use the parkway if available though.
My advice would just be if you are in a bigger rig, avoid the sites on Pine Ln. Maple Ln and the unnamed Rd beside it did not seem as bad, although we only walked them.

Lovely Spot, Remote...in A Good Way
Super spot. Stayed here in October. Sadly the drought meant no fire, no fishing. Staff was great. Beautiful site right on the lake. No cell service here, but that’s a good thing mostly. Camp store was very well stocked. The road down from the parkway is very steep and twisty, but certainly manageable. We would certainly stay here again.

There is no cell service here (at least not Verizon). There is also no Wifi for campers. Otherwise a very nice peaceful place with good bathhouse and laundry. The camp store has a great selection of goods at fair prices. Do use Blue Ridge pkwy to get there, not google maps.

Great Place
Quiet and beautiful. Wash house, laundry, and bathrooms are nice. You have a lot of room if you stay right on the pond. Great hosts. HWY 56 is a BEAST! Tight turns and very steep grade. You can use Blue Ridge Hwy for easier entrance.
