Awesome Place
Loved our weekend here! Probably the friendliest staff I’ve ever been around. Our site was super big. We stayed on the top section that is mostly gravel, the lower had more grass but sites there seemed smaller. Latching our dogs to the hook on the back of the camper they had 20 feet in any direction. Site was so big you weren’t tripping over the neighbors water/sewer/electric. Trees around the site provided shade for most of the day. Memorial Day weekend had a band and fireworks over the lake. Lake is huge with a nice sandy beach area. Verizon cell service worked fine and we got about 15 over the air TV channels just for watching news and things. Mostly had the radio on with another dozen stations to pick from. Maybe make sure to have extra water/sewer/electric hoses/cords because if you park far back the connections could be far away for you.

The “Nice Level” site they assigned us was anything but. And the water didn’t work at our site or the next one to it. The staff was not helpful and we decided to leave. We were going to be there the night of 4/3/19 but ended up driving another hour north and stayed at the Creekside Campground in Edinburg. A much nicer campground and great staff there.

Traveler
If your headed south keep going, Buena Vista has a nice city campground with full hook ups. This place is crowded and out of the way. Unlevel spots and and near empty pond to look at. They also advertise one price on Passport America and charged more when I showed up, they probably figure your so far out of the way you'll just pay it.

One Night Stay
Tight sights, lethargic staff and bathrooms are your typical old campground bathrooms, but we had a nice stay. Relatively level, shady camping spot (which some are not level at all, so ask if that's an issue!) WiFi wasn't great. The campgrounds are nice and there's recycling available. Fellow campers seemed nice! Lots of permanent campers here.

Some Will Love This Place
Very busy, crowded place lots of kids around. Live music went on till 11pm on Saturday so not much sleep as we had to get on the road early. Restrooms were a long way from our site (closest was boarded up) and not the cleanest. Lake looked fun but if I hadn't had a bike would not have made it to the swimming area.

Nice Campground
We stayed the night here....they closed at 11 pm but we're very accommodating as we arrived 20 min. After that time ( we called them prior and told them we would be late ) they were very friendly checking in and out...can't review the amenities as we didn't use any.
