Good Stopover With PA

We stopped for an overnight in a rainy November night. A little strange on its setup, as it’s a big city park with hookups. With our Passport America discount it was $22. A minor irritation is that the PA app said it was $17.50, and the office said it was $27. We paid $22 for W/E site. Hardly anyone here. Overall it was fine. Bathrooms were clean enough but kinda far away from the campsites. Full price of 50 something dollars would not be a good deal, IMHO

Great Views

Camping is on a public park. First come first serve. Unlevel spots (hard to sleep. Felt like I was going to roll away) but had water, electric and sewer hookups. Can’t make reservations but found a spot for an overnight stay. Pool was big but too many people so I didn’t go. The bathrooms were dirty. lots of people at the park. I think there was a carnival when we arrived. Cute little town. 3 stars because could not find a level site and dirty bathrooms.

Overnight

This would be a very good place to have a base camp and explore the Blue Ridge Parkway. The location is the best part of this campground. We were there June 2017.
