Nice Campground

Nice park. We had site 25 and was very un level. Used my ramps and all my leveling blocks just to get to the point where I could use my auto level without running out of length of the cylinder in the rear. Very busy and watch out for cars speeding thru the campground. Posted 15 mph but seen several doing double at least. Not a lot of room to get off the road when walking our dogs. We stayed in campground A. Campground B looked way better for level sites. Nice hiking trails and quiet at night.

One Of Our Favorites!

At under an hour from home, we always love going to Cowan's Gap! We love the lake! Our year and a half old loves the beach! Our dog loves the water! Nice sites and clean, modern bathrooms. Expect to walk a few minutes if you're in the A loop, but it's a nice one way road. Walking loop is fun and the views are beautiful! Always makes for a nice, quiet weekend trip!

Cowans Gap State Park

Nice quiet park nestled in a gap between two mountains with a small man made lake. Good hiking trails, lots of fishing. No cell reception or tv from this remote location, but that is OK for those that need to disconnect. Showers were clean and warm, dumping station was adequate and conveniently located. Pet friendly areas. Gravel RV sites as well as more primitive tent sites available to suit your needs. We were early in the season so check in was on the honor system with reservations made on line. All in all a nice park that we would definitely recommend and return to.
