We stayed 6 nights and it gets busy on the weekends. Beautifully wooded sites which could use some updating(Cypress Campground) as well as the bathhouse. Does have water and electric. The one way road is tight in spots so use care.
Acorn campground, which is next door, is more modern and has river views.
But even with all the negatives, We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return.

A Special Place
We have visited this state park three times now and camped inside the state park twice. Both spots we booked ahead were on the river. Some spots are closer together so just try to reserve well ahead. If you are into hiking, this is the place to go, many miles of awesome trails with scenic views. Fly fishing and kayaking is great too. Lots of outdoor activities around including the lake (marina for boat rentals) and river outfitters a few miles downstream. Restaurants and small stores nearby. I’m sure we will go back a fourth time in the future.
