Tricky Sites with Ditches

We stayed for 4 nights in site C16 as part of our Thousand Trails membership. Full hookups (50amp, water, sewer). Water pressure was good at about 52psi. We lost power our last night at the campground around 11pm. We walked out with a flashlight and our neighbors were also outside so we assumed the campground lost power (it was a thunderstorm so it seemed possible). But we learned the following morning when we still didn't have power that it was just an isolated issue with a few camp sites. Our designated site ended up being a little too tricky to back into so we were allowed to park in another site typically reserved for long-term rentals. We've had our fair share of tricky sites being full-timers and over 100 campgrounds in the past year, but this was one of the toughest because of the sloped roads, hills, trees, tree stumps, and the large ditches on both sides of the road. We actually ended up leaving early on our last day because our phones woke us up with a flood alert.

Better Than I Thought

The first thing I noticed was the grass wasn’t cut. It was long and shaggy looking. There a lot of seasonal/FT campers but they take really good care of their sites. They are neat and clean. They mow their own grass too. All activities are closed due to COVID-19. We were told by staff that the pool was not open due to inspection not being completed by the state. They said it would be another week to get open. Another staffer said the family/kids pool had a crack and was empty. The kiddie pool was green. If an inspection is coming within the week I wouldn’t expect it to pass. We did have ice cream from the store the price was very reasonable and the price/portion was good. Most spots are shaded with nature trees which is nice. The lake is nice but the beach is in pitiful shape. All in all it’s better than I thought it would be but my expectations weren’t very high to begin with. Definitely not the Presserve of the 80’s.

Frustrated

This has to be the worst managed TT we have been to, we are full timers with an elite membership. We reserved months in advance and when we arrived were told that they only have 30amp. We drive around and see many 50amp spots available. I get it, full time spots have them reserved however they are not bagged. At least they could reserve me a spot for the next one that leaves. Nope, “ come back tomorrow around noon to see if we have anything available”. Gravel roads full of pot holes, the lots are not maintained unless you do it yourself, miniature golf is a wreck, I could go on and on. I can’t believe such a large park with so much potential is being so poorly managed.

This isn’t a campground.

I just did a ride through and this place is nothing more than an camper trailer park. A lot of permanent campers with decks and sheds. Seen several sleeping tents that were just laying in the trees or full of holes. I remember as a kid this place was always spotless and well taken care of. I was wanting to take my family there because I remembered how nice it was, not the case anymore.

Needs Work

If as I have been told. This is best thousand trail park. It does not say much for TT. Roads gravel and woorkers and others go zipping by making dust. No air in adult room. Employees save by blue bag best sites for friends you get what's left. Just an average TT in my book. 1000 v
