Beautiful campground with a waterfall on the AuSable River! Sites are large with lots of trees! Pool, camp store and many dog paths! I loved it! Only problem is the bad wifi! Couldn't get any TV channels.

Work Needed At This KOA
Poorly-maintained Campground very large picturesque however many dead and dying trees that need to be pruned or removed. Campsites and roads are dirt with little to no gravel.

Great Location
Campground is located close to hiking, fishing and area biking trails. Not far from Lake Placid, Saranac Lake and Wilmington. The resort is large with a plenty of activities for the kids and trails on the property. Our site (row F) was a spacious pull thru with water and 30 amp hookups and relatively level. In the area that we were assigned, the sites are dirt and separated by trees with no undergrowth so we didn’t feel that it was private enough from adjoining sites. The site was a little bare from over use. There were other partial hookup sites that were more private so ask when booking. WiFi was very weak and barely worked. Better by the office. Bathroom were a little tired but clean in the early part of the day. Plenty of hot water in the shower. We stayed midweek so it wasn’t too crowded. I can see weekends really filling up. Would return if able to book a different site.

We wanted to stay at this KOA to freshen up on our way thru Lake Placid. The place is really big. We paid $60.00 for a full hook up site. The bathrooms were sort of clean, but not clean clean. The fixtures were quite old and could have been updated. The showers on the other hand, I felt were dirty. All the sites are dirt and most of the roads are dirt. KOA’s always escort you to your site and help you get backed in or pulled thru. They escorted us to our site and then just sat there. We booked for one night and check out is at 11:00 am. They were at our site at 11:10 am wondering why we weren’t gone yet. Anyway, the reason we hadn’t left yet was the neighbor on the site next to us came over to talk. And talk, and talk. We’ve stayed at many state park campgrounds that had nicer facilities. Bottom line, this campground is overpriced for what it is.

Too Expensive.
Expensive for a tent site. They have loads of options and the campground is huge! But you'll certainly pay for it. Shower facilities are more primitive than what I'd expect for 35 a night.
