Awesome Little Park, Views Forever!
The nicest staff we've ever encountered. Easy hiking trail with lots of possibilities for finding rocks you might like. Easy paved roads all the way to the park. Gravel roads and sites in the park. "Level sites" meant still having to get out the boards under the wheels. Nice ramadas, water and electric to RV sites. We'll be back.

Very large spaces, covered picnic tables, and absolutely stunning views! Just water and electricity available, no sewer, but that’s the norm for state parks. Beautiful sunrise and sunset. Park host was very attentive and helpful. Highly recommended!!

Beautiful And Unexpected Surprise
The visitor center is helpful in giving recommendations for hiking and rock collection identification. The campground host is great, clean comfort station with hot showers. Nice sites with shelters. Made the two mile drive to Spring Canyon for more hiking, wildlife and birding. We had a great time and learned lots.

Better-than-expected
This state park is famous for rockhounding, being one of the two parks in the nation where you are allowed to take things out. Unfortunately, this makes most people think that this park is just some sort of geek Center. Well, I guess it is oh, but it is also a very beautiful Park with beautiful sunsets and beautiful mountains all around you. If you are planning to be in the area, this is a wonderful place to spend the evening.

Nice Park
It's a great long to moderate term stay. 3-4 days and you'll like you're time there.

A Lovely Park
Read all the reviews and take a side trip to this park. It’s very busy. We thoroughly enjoy the views, the wildlife and the sunset was spectacular! Didn’t use the restrooms but they looked clean and new from the outside. Although I hate to share this treasure...yup—highly recommend!! (Let’s keep it between just us though;-))

Nice Park
In space 17 in a 38' DP. Big lot. Excellent views into Deming and the Florida mountains. The drive in on 143/Stirrup road sucks. Bone jarring rough. We'll check out 141 to see if it's smoother.
VZ 4G 1-3 bars. OTA TV works well.

Wonderful place south of Deming, NM. Immaculately clean. The best bathrooms ever. Very friendly camp host. Definitely would stay here again

Great, But Super Busy.
Had to wait overnight at Walmart for a spot, when we got there the next day we managed to get a single night spot ( people drive through day and night looking for spots) The park is beautiful but the wind and cold was Brutal. we walked the one loop (to cold and windy to do much more than that) and found some cool pieces of geodes no whole ones or thunder eggs, but I feel if the weather was better and we had more time we could have definitely found one (someone ahead of us found one)
What’s best about his Park is the heated bathrooms and the “ROCK SHOP” on the road in, it’s a little shack with solar panels and a few wooden signs, te guy who runs is one of the coolest old dudes ever! Inside are hundreds of thunder eggs and geodes this guy and his partner collected before his partners death a few years before. The prices and stories are so worth the stop!

Wow! Gorgeous!
We were only here for a night but wish we could have stayed longer. This park is VERY well maintained with super clean bathrooms and showers. The terrain and paths are beautiful. The views are spectacular. Can’t wait to get back for a longer stay.

Beautiful Park
Very picturesque setting, was a little worried at first since the park is on the side of a hill, but the spaces were nice and level, with plenty of space for tow vehicle. Nice and quiet with beautiful sunsets. Would definitely stay again!

Great stop. Beautiful sunrises. We did have some wasps or hornets at our site but no one got stung.
Clean and a good little hike.

This Place Rocks!
We are so happy that we stopped here! Site 12 has amazing views and feels somewhat private. The bathrooms are new and so clean. There are a few trails and Canyon State Park is a short drive and your night pass allows you into that park too. The current camp host Karen is super nice and enthusiastic. This state park allows you to rock hunt and keep what you find. We’ve seen a lot of wildlife also. The nearby town, Deming has everything you could need. We’re only here for a couple nights and wish we booked at least 5 nights. Oh and the best part, it’s 14 a night for electric and water. Can’t beat that!

Amazing!
Cool find tucked away in the mountains. Big spots, super cheap for hookups and beautiful hiking and rockhounding. Saw lots of wildlife and found some cool agates and minerals. Would definitely come again. Friendly and helpful rangers.

Gorgeous Views!
Beautiful little park with breathtaking views. Great value - $10 for no hook-ups and $14 with power. Sites have various levels of amenities - some with elec, some with water, some with both or nothing. Reserve if that matters to you. Sites are large and well-spaced but have varying degrees of privacy depending on foliage and positioning. The most pristine bathrooms I’ve ever seen and great showers!

Really Nice Park
We stayed here Nov 5th thru Nov 8th, 2017. Really nice park located on the hillside overlooking the town of Deming, NM. Our campsite, #17, was huge and level. Limited reservable sites. Road leading to park is paved but roads in campground are gravel as are the campsites. Friendly Staff. When we arrived our campsite was raked and clean. Each site has a covered picnic table. Very quiet campground. Very clean bathrooms and showers. Verizon 4G with 3 bars. Short drive to Deming which has restaurants and Walmart. I posted pictures of our campsite and the bathroom/shower building. We would definitely stay here again.

Only stayed 1 night in a 35 ft trailer. Spaces are larger than most parks and the Rangers were very helpful. Didn't find many geodes but lots of other minerals. Found a horned toad which made my day. Well come back again when it's cooler.

Thought we would rest here for 1 night, but stayed for 3! Large lots, scenic area, peaceful, geode hunting and wildlife.

Beautiful
What a great way to end a long drive. Tucked away in the middle of nowhere at the base of the most scenic rock formations. Great for rock hunting. Clean, frendly, inexpensive. Don't pass this one.
