Great Stay & Good Alternative To Hotel
I had a great stay at Harrisville State Park. The park was full as it has been a very popular camping destination since the 1920s. It was still very quiet considering being full. Brand new restrooms & showers, very clean my whole weekend stay. The only time I waited for a restroom was when they were cleaning them.. i had no wait time to shower early in the morning. Beautifully nestled in a cedar & pine forest on the shores of Lake Huron. We had several storms go thru last weekend but the cedars sheltered us from the wind. I was SUV camping and everyone was very friendly. Can't wait to go back again. Sturgeon Point Lighthouse was fun. Due to CV the tower was not open to climb. Great beaches for rock hunting enthusiasts. Dog friendly. Everyone had their dog leashed. Some Lakefront campsites were closed due to mother natures erosion on the shores of Michigan everywhere. The dog beach was gone because of this but no one seemed to mind. It was only $64 for the weekend better than hotel!

State park For Sure
Meaning all sites are booked. People everywhere. No privacy in center of loops. Nice waterfront sites if you can get them. Best bath house I’ve ever experienced at a state park. There are vault toilets but they are locked so it is a hike to the toilets. Don’t wait to head in that direction until the last minute. Great beach and perfect for star gazing.

Too Crowded
It seemed as if every patch of ground at this park was used by people camping. Very long lines and wait times to use the restrooms. Several of the campsites near us had their dogs running loose. That is very stressful for us and our dogs that are confined to our site. Overall it was a disappointing trip and the least pleasant camping trip of the season for us.

We stayed here June 2018. Beautiful lakefront campsites. Michigan rocks! Cool breezes off the lake. New bathrooms were clean. No mosquitos. Quiet. Peaceful. Train came through at 8 pm then at 3 am but I like hearing them. The sound of the surf is fantastic. This is what camping is for me.

Great Campground!
Harrisville State Park is a nice campground right on Lake Huron. The beach is clean and the restrooms and shower house are the best we've been in by far. There are sites next to the beach and even a dog beach. We'll be back again!
