Memorial Day Camping
Lots of big trees! I love the Lil snack shop, hotdogs, snow cones, & lil necessities to meet your camping needs, if you forgot something. I enjoyed the laughter of kids. A relaxing atmosphere and a nice lil park for play. Sitting around a Campfire always nice. We went for the holiday weekend. WARNING for big rigs. We have a 39 foot class A, It was tight. Thanks god my husbands a pro at maneuvering the RV. The roads in the campground are not very wide and mature trees line the winding roads.

Tight, But Nice
Exceptionally nice state park. Very clean. Close, but just far away enough town. A lot of shade, don’t plan on your satellite dish working. The western section of the park has smaller, uneven sites that can be difficult to get into depending on length. The online map doesn’t show any of this. The eastern side of the park (closed during the winter) has sites that are easier to back into that are level. Fantastic area to walk and for kids. Park staff put considerable time into maintaining its beauty. The downside, there is a lot of vehicle traffic that goes to the overlook/statue as well as to Taft Campus. As much as I dislike speed bumps, this park needs them. We stayed in March, I’m sure the traffic gets worse as the weather gets better Would definitely stay again. 40’ Class A

Lowden is a beautiful park. Campground is nice. We’ve been to many other state parks that I would rate higher. However, with the trails here and at White Pines State Park and Castle Rock State Park nearby, the hiking in the area is easily my favorite.
I like to stay here at least once a year.

Lowden State Park Campground
Wonderful small State Park. Clean & well kept.
Electric at each site but no water hookup. Great place
to stay if you want to visit White Pines State Park.
Clean bathhouse with great showers. Only drawback is whoever
has the firewood concession should be fired. There is none.
Bring Your Own. I drove over 20 miles trying to find firewood
and ended up stopping at someone’s house to buy some from them.
Visit Downtown Oregon. Its beautiful and a good place for ice cream.

$10
Friendly Little Park.
Was on a road trip, scrambling to find a place to setup a tent before it got dark and I'm glad I stumbled upon this park. $10 for a lot without water or power. Hosts were super friendly. Only con is it's near a road with very minimal traffic. Might keep you up if you're in a tent like I was.
