Great campground. Busy ATV traffic on weekends on lower road. No ATV traffic in campground. $10 with senior pass. Plenty of Hummingbirds. Bring water.

Too Late
We arrived at 3PM on Thursday and the campground was already full. The camphost was super helpful in giving us direction to camp in undispersed camping areas up the road, 344. The area was very busy with a great deal of ATV traffic. There was very little traffic between 10 PM and 7 AM which was nice. It is a beautiful area with a lot of nearby hikes and the Buena Vista visitors center was super helpful with a list of hikes and a very detailed map. Cottonwood lake was nice during the week but very busy on the weekend. The picnic area is great, bathrooms, picnic tables and lake access. Overall a great place to camp and enjoy the outdoors. If you like solitude in nature, that is a tough find in this part of Colorado in July. Definitely, beautiful landscapes and friendly people are in great supply.
