We camped here for 2 nights at site 14 and enjoyed our time. Site is a pull through, which is nice with a large pop-up (21 ft). The kids loved going fishing in the reservoir, but were bummed they couldn't go in the water. My guess is the amount of water flow coming and going is what makes it dangerous to be in/on the water. Morning time the water was very low. Then by night time the water was 2-3 feet higher!! We did end up going over to Carter lake for the kids to enjoy some playtime in the water.
The mine close by was definitely a draw back. We could hear the trucks working throughout the night!
Since the campground is small, the kids rode their bikes most of the time around the loop.
Never saw the camp host, but Larimer County rangers came by to check us in and drove through a couple times.

Nice Place off the beaten path
Stayed 7 nights at site F26. Very nice spot next to reservoir with big tree for shade. A little close to road, but little traffic. If you like bicycling, great launch point. Water and pit toilet right by. Warning - LOTS of flys, but luckily few mosquitoes. Close to Loveland and near Fort Collins.
