Stayed Here 9/24/2024

Wow, it seemed hard to score a campsite in Yellowstone but we did make reservations several days ahead as soon as we knew we were close. Have a travel van do we don't necessarily plan more than a few days ahead. Not really a good plan here... the 2 reservation systems aren't always user friendly but at least we got something! First night was a nice spot in the RV area. Lots of trees surrounding. Restrooms were clean and warm. Some highway noise until dark. Had a noisy rig next to us running a generator till ?? No electric but there's clean water in the front. Second night when we arrived we found that our reservation was on the tent camp area. At first seemed bad and parking the van right in the road wasn't very level but turned out ok as it was very quiet. Staff do their best at the office but u can tell they r understaffed. Rangers also seemed understaffed and we wondered about all the folks burning lots of wood they were buying, everything incredibly dry & no internet, emergencies??

Excellent. Great place near major park features. Staff put us on waiting list and able to extend our stay. Great mercantile store!

Madison CG does NOT have electric

Good But Not Great

Friendly and professional staff. Very helpful on really everything. The campground itself it too busy for may taste with not much privacy. Would try to look for something different first if I would come come back to YS

Best Of Yellowstone

Madison is the best campground in Yellowstone nice size spaces friendly people excellent location In the middle of the park. No mosquitoes when the other campgrounds were swarming. And then there is the river!!!!!!. Next time we will spend our entire vacation at Madison
