Let me start by saying this was one of the most beautiful areas I have ever been to. 12000 foot peaks, lpts of snow still in august, trout fishing in dozens of mountain lakes and breathtaking views on lots of hiking trails. It is a National Forest campground so you can not expect a lot but I do have a few issues. Website said water was available. There were spigots but all had padlocks on them. Arrived on Thursday mid afternoon. Camp host nowhere to be found. No one to ask any questions to about where to get water. Ended driving 20 miles to a gas station to get 2 6 gal. jugs filled. Host showed up friday evening and started kicking people off of sites he said were reserved that didnt have signs. Then he made them up and put on posts. Sites that were listed online as first come first serve had reservation tags on them. When asked about water he said no campgrounds had water. Amazingly he had water and other campgrounds too. Website needs updating. Host.cared more about his friend there.
