Closed for the season, but dry camping available in four sites. Lots of hiking. Beautiful alpine lake. Quiet due to road closures.

Great Experience
We tent camped here for 3 days starting July 25, 2018. Every day was beautiful weather and no rain. The nights got down to 50° F and the days were between 70°-80°. Absolutely perfect for hiking. The mosquito’s were relentless, but not bad with repellent and if you stayed on the move.
Island Lake is at a pretty high elevation so hiking was fairly flat with only about a 400-450’ change in elevation from the campground to about 3.5 miles north on the well established trail.
We will be returning this summer and plan to hike in further and see more mountain lakes.
BEAUTIFUL!
