This small city campground is a park on the Wisconsin side of lake Pepin on the Mississippi River.
The town of Bay City is small and quiet. The mainline of the CPKC from the Twin Cities to Chicago runs through town, so there are occasional train noises and horns as they pass the crossing.
Not too far from Red Wing MN provides shopping and that sort of stuff. There is a couple of thrift stores, bar and grills as well as a Dollar General in Bay City if you need.
The campground is the boat launch area for river access so there are a few boats and fishermen passing through.
Our site was full hookups on the waterfront with panoramic view of the river bay.
Sandy site was not very grassy. But the campground was closed due to 4th of July flooding for about 4 weeks.
There is a simple swing set play ground in the camping area otherwise a park a little ways away has more play opportunities for kids.
If you are looking for a few peaceful days at a really beautiful park, consider this.
