Great Location But Very Wet
This is a nice remote USFS campground. Tends to be very wet and muddy. Probably best to have high clearance vehicle to access. Sites are relatively small, a trailer over 20 feet would not fit in most sites with a tow vehicle.

Getting Away From It All
This campground is primitive, but it’s off the beaten path and provides a good base camp for hiking and sightseeing the Dolly Sods Wilderness. It’s been a few years since I visited, but at the time the bathrooms were pit toilets and the water came from an old fashioned hand pump. It was helpful to let the rust settle out in a bucket, pour off the top water into another container, and then filter it. This campground is perfect for tents and pop up campers. Not really suitable for long rigs. No electricity and far from sources of light pollution so the view of the Milky Way is amazing at night!
