Not only is there a limited view of the mud/stinky algae-covered water, there is a waste water plant next to sites 30/32 that smells terrible + loud pump. Sites along the mud/water are damaged and not available + are dry camps. Park is very run down, little to or shade or privacy for most spots. Dump station overflowed with human waste everywhere, even after I complained and host "rinsed" down. Trash was so piled up and overflowing the 4 days we were there and was so putrid on the last morning when the truck came, that most of the sites around it were unbearable. Trails were washed out in lots of places. Not worth the gas to even drive up the narrow, steep, windy roads. We left early and we super disappointed since the area is beautiful.

Not Impressed
The good things about this campground is the close proximity to things outside the park.
My two main issues were the sites very unlevel and when it rains the
drainage is bad about pooling under your camper or tent

Beautiful Park
The lower rating is no doubt due to the lack of full hook-ups and or water and electricity. Although the sites are large, clean and well liad out, the lack of facilities hurts attendance. Hands down, I would camp here if water, elec, and sewer were provide. Very neat and quiet park with outstanding staff. Very eager to assist and keenly aware of the needed upgrades. IMO, if it had full hookups, the ambience alone is much moreover appealing than Pipestem.
