Hiker and Angler Heaven

Though high and dry in a pine and fir forest, it's less than a mile downhill to beautiful Tiffany Lake, a large subalpine lake stocked with trout. The trail continues past the lake, offering hikers to explore the Tiffany saddle and scramble up Middle Tiffany or wander cross-country to Little Tiffany Lake. The campground is basic, primitive and seldom crowded. It was here, about a decade ago, that a Forest Service worker was treed by several wolves and was evacuated by helicopter.
