No Wifi
Nice and quiet area but didn’t stay because there was no wifi or phone service. I had remote work that needed to be done but have to move on.

Good Base For Visiting Tacoma
Site #3, decent site. Stayed 5 nights no problems. Drove to Federal Way Transit Center to catch bus to Tacoma. Great way to visit museums in Tacoma. WA State Senior Off-Season Pass allows us to camp in full-hookup site for $10. Great deal.

Decent Stopover
Needed a last minute campground to stop for the night in our EscapeCamperVan. Based on previous reviews this one looked like it might be the easiest to get in and out of. Didn’t come in until very late, half the gate was closed (closes at 10) but we were able to come around the other half. Took a camp slip at the booth and checked out the available sites listed to make an informed decision. Not sure if we would have come in past the designated checkin time if we’d had a tent and lots of gear to setup, but as we had just the van and nothing to hookup to we didn’t worry about it. Pulled the van into a site and then took the camp slip with payment back to the booth to drop off. Bathrooms are nice with shower. Some airport noise and lots of RVs - not sure I would stay here longer if we were looking for a quiet camping weekend but for a quick overnight stop it worked perfectly!

Positive Experience
This is one of the nicest urban campgrounds we've been to. Quiet and forested with moderate privacy. Sites are pretty level and most are paved. Didn't see any of the problems others report. If you need to come to Tacoma or seattle this is a great choice. Sites in the A loop are open year round

Messy with what look like squatters living there. The worst State park I have been to. avoid it!

Pull thru site was $40, ranger came around and shook us down for 5 dollars more, even though the sign posted said 40. Muddy and rather cramped. Should be in the 30 dollar range. Sites 52-102 are suppose to be open May 15th, they were not. Day use area across the street is pretty to walk to

Bathrooms were not the best but we were happy to find an available site. They posted available sites before ranger left each night which was appreciated.
