Worst State Park

Pros: Groundhogs everywhere, the kids loved them. Cons: Staff is incompetent at best. Sites are tiny. Facilities are disgusting, especially for a state park. If it rains, everything is a flooded mess with standing water for days. No shade due to small mesquite trees. Park overall is outdated and in major need of remodel.

Nice Park!

We enjoyed our one night stay. Sites are nice and not on top of each other. If you are into disk golf, this is the place! Nice trails. Lots of grass and mowed areas. Ants were not a problem in an rv. Looks like a nice lake, swim area, fishing pier.

Ants Galore

There are a ton of leaf cutter ant colonies everywhere. Ranger assured us they werent going to be a problem and they werent. Got a few ant bites, but those were from little mounds we didnt see. The most spiders I've ever seen, including a black widow in the shelter. Pads are level but sites are terrible after a rain. The one we'd reserved was too flooded to use, the others we were offered had lots of standing water. Trails were impassable due to rain as well, even after 4 days of all sun. Only one shower facility and it was riddled with wasps and needed a good hose down. What was amazing was the prairie village, a large number of prairie dogs near the swimming area who weren't shy, daughter loved it. All the sites I looked at had very little privacy or shade, at night headlights were always lighting up our site.

Not Bad

Stayed here for a week, sites are well-worn asphalt but very level, not much shade overhead because the trees are all short, have covered picnic tables and fire ring. Loved watching the prairie dogs, hated all the ants. We had ants all over our 5er by day 5. At least they weren’t the same small red fire ants that got me right after we arrived. Would probably stay again but NOT in space 28!

Like Meerkat Manor With Prairie Dogs

We LOVED seeing all the prairie dogs so close to the campsites. Clean restrooms. Nice and quiet park, but not to far from town to go shopping.

Very nice, clean and nice shade and it is very peaceful and quiet. All in all we enjoyed our week of rving there

Camper/fisherman

Nice clean sites. Many trails and activities. Stayed every weekend. Love it being so close can run home if need to. Needs cable TV but why go camping if going to watch tv.
