This is a lovely spot but like the other reviewers said it is fairly run down and the US Forest Service has not kept it up. We stopped here last December also and a couple of campers that were there then are still parked in the same spots. Obviously no one from the Forest Service is checking on the campground.
They are servicing the porta-potties and emptying the trash receptacle.
There are no hiking trails in the area that we found.
This is such a beautiful place it is a shame it is not being maintained.

Amazing Location, A Bit Rundown
Loved this quiet campground. 2 loops, no amenities except for water which was contaminated and unusable when I was there. Portable potties but newly constructed bathrooms had signs they were going to be open in the future. Huge park with 2 boat launches. The sites were spacious but many were unusable from fallen branches, erosion, and being unkept. Maybe in the summer it is better cared for. There are remnants of other loops that have been abandoned so likely this place is not heavily used. For $4/nt (accepts passes) it can't be beat. I had an entire loop for a week to myself in Oct and would have stayed longer if the water was potable. No dump station.
