Always Lost
Clean, well run, nice place to visit. All the necessities and a boat launch.

Site 34
Site was tough to get a 27' level in and will need dry weather or 4x4 to get out. Great view of lake but a large hill if you have kayaks. Do have a fair amount of day fishermen along lake but had no problems.

Nice Campground
Sites 53-59 mostly waterfront and shaded. With our America the Beautiful pass, 30 amp w/water site was $22 per nite. Nice swimming beach, boat ramp. Lots of day use traffic but not through campground. Not too far from Gatlingburg/Pigeon Forge, GSMNP.

The campground is nice and spacious. A small beach and boat ramp in the vicinity. Campground is divided into campers and a public area.
Volunteers share an attitude that is unfriendly to those in the public area. It must come from the top down. They do things intentionally to the public area, to annoy the public.
For example they often turn the showers off. Then the bathrooms were closed off on the 4th of July weekend. It's understandable that the shower drain got plugged up with the sand from the beach. However, that was a four-day closure for 1 hour's worth of work.
Maybe the volunteers feel like they are overworked, so they closed off the bathrooms to cut down on their work.
I believe with the right staff of volunteers, it would be a top-notch camping area.

Pretty And Popular
Popular with the locals for the nearby swimming beach, reservations recommended. Most sites are waterview but water is not accessible from the campground. Very little shade at the sites. No soap in the bathrooms, bring hand sanitizer. Campground bathrooms are also used by beach goers. One shower for each gender per ring. Firewood and ice for sale from camp host. Some water traffic noise early in the morning, but not too bad.
