Better Than Smokemont
Larger campground. Sites are decently laid out but not super private with lack of foliage between sites. Dry camping but dump and water fill next to visitor's center 6 miles away. Flush toilets and large sink for dishes in bathhouse (at least in K loop). Some loops do not allow generators so read carefully before booking. Easy drive from Gatlinburg (although through Gatlinburg is a traffic nightmare, esp in an RV). Very shaded so solar not helpful. Easy hike/walk to trails and abandoned Daisy Town. Hike to Avent Cabin was amazing, highly recommended. Quiet, even on weekend in Sept after labor day but before fall colors. Many sites along river but outside loops also nice. Really liked this place much more than Smokemont. Stayed a week and wished I'd stayed longer.

Great Campground But ..
Spacious camping sites. Was in TT with water and empty tanks. Campground did not have bathrooms or dump sink for tenters. Had porta-poddys. NPS wanted them to travel distance to do dishes. No discount for lack of services.
When bathrooms and dump sinks are functional, 5 stars

Full Shade
Very nice campground. Kind of a white knuckle drive from Cades Cove pulling my 30' TT with my 20' long F-250. Road was very twisty/turny with a lot of rock overhangs right up to the road on inside turns, forcing me to swing wide into the oncoming lanes of a blind corner. As I mentioned in my Cades Cove review, all sites are in full shade all day...which normally would be nice, but since I couldn't run my generator in the only loop available to me, and I just spent 3 days in full shade in Cades Cove, I would have liked sun for my solar panel to charge the batteries back up. Lots of hiking trails. Very nice CG, but could use some road maintenance; quite a few potholes. $12 with senior pass.

Awsome
Awesome campground. Has sites for tents up to smaller RVs. We have a 22ft trailer and had no problem getting in. Stayed right on the river, very beautiful. Clean bathrooms. Stayed 3 nights wish it was longer. Great location for touring around. Short drive to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. About 45 minutes to an hour to Cade's Cove. Close hiking trails. Bring your own tubes for floating the river in the campground. Nice dump station with potable water located by Sugarland visitor center only a few miles away.

Great To Be Close To All The Trails
Stayed here 2 nights and had a blast. The only downside is no showers but just bring your own supplies to freshen up. Beautiful campground with good access to the major trails. Very convenient to Gatlinburg where we visited every day. Will make another visit here for sure.

Very nice
Nice place to stay in contact with nature. We park next to a small river. Be aware there is no electricity, dumps or cellphone access at all.
