Comfortable & Level Sites
We stayed at site 87 which was perfect for TV access since not as much tree coverage. We loved it! The rangers are super friendly. Lots of smooth bike riding around the park too and ample places to fish. The cost was reasonable and it was also conveniently located without any traffic noise. Definitely hope to stay again!

Good Stop Off I-75
We have stoped here four times headed to and from Florida. Overall nice. Friendly staff. Very quiet during our winter stops. It's definitely past time to put more gravel on pads, and some of the tables and fire rings are on wrong side. But convenience, peace and beauty will keep us coming back.

Great little family campground
We stayed at campsite 81 and it had plenty of room for our family of 3 human and 2 K-9's. Very pretty area and the playground close to us was a great benefit. Highly recommend the campground but some spaces are tight and blindside back. Added: The lady running the Rangers station was the absolute nicest person so far at all the State Parks we've been to.

No Upgrades In30 Years
Been camping in this area for over 30 years the management at this campground has done nothing to upgrade the camping facilities not even gravel on the sites, pass this one up go on up to Indian mountain, they have 50 amp services sewer and concrete sites on every site. Staff are the nicest!

Nice, But Odd
Overall nice campground, although many sites have the fire rings and picnic tables either behind the rig or on the opposite side. We stayed in site 22, and it worked for our 38' 5th wheel. Also beware if you book site 66, it is very narrow with trees on both sides, not enough room to open any slide outs. Most of the sites, at least in A loop seem to be narrow and long and neighboring site within just a few feet. Other than that, the bathhouse was well maintained and clean and there was plenty of area for kids to ride bicycles. Park location was maybe a mile or so from the interstate, however you couldn't hardly hear any traffic at all. There is also a Wal-Mart about 5 mins away for supplies if needed. We stayed June 7-14, 2020

Clean quit we are having a wonderful stay. Some of the sites are not suited for big rigs so review or call ahead if you have concerns about site leaving or size.

Convenient
Cove lake is a nice park that is convenient to town & the interstate. We’ve stayed twice. Once in May in site 72, living area was small, our neighbors picnic table & fire ring were really close to the back of our camper. Lots of mosquitos due to the close proximity to the lake. We’ve stayed in site 34 across the street from the lake. This is one of the nicer sites in the campground. We stayed in March and had no bug problems. Beautiful view of the lake. Fire ring & table are on the correct side of the camper. Had plenty of room for our 30’ trailer and truck. Both times we’ve been the rangers have been a little inhospitable. This last time we were due to check out on Sunday. There were 3 campers in the campground and they called me to tell me we were two hours past checkout time and needed to leave because “they were so busy”. What?! Other than that the park is fine. They have a nice paved walking rail that gets used a lot by locals. Lots of sites have a strange fire & table set up

I loved this state park. It was quiet and beautiful. The park people kept everything clean with easy access to our lot. The lot was level and required very little leveling. We spent 3 very nice days. Thanks for a great experience and we will stop again.

Disappointed
Loop A site 7 total disappointment. Table & fire ring is on the wrong side. Your canapy will be over the fire ring on the site beside you. Absolutely no place to park your vehicle. No space whatsoever. Park ranger had an attitude.

Great park
Nice facilities, great playground, only thing I didn’t care for was how close the lots where to each other.

Nice state park, however been coming here for almost 30 years. In that 30 years I have seen very little improvement, next to none. Still old 30amp service, no sewer. Always needs mowing, we camped there April 2018 grass was 6-8 inches tall they mowed the third loop inside loop not the camp sites Sunday afternoon AFTER most campers left. A lot of campsites don't have grills. Other state parks are putting in 50 amp services concrete pads and sewers so I'm wondering what is happening to the money that is coming to this state park. Site 90 had a tree taken out sometime over the winter, they didn't even smooth out the ground left a huge mud hole. State needs to take a close look at cove lake state park.

Family Friendly
Like most state parks we've visited the bathrooms are just ok, but not super clean. What I do like is that there are shade trees and nice size lots. There is a large pool, as well as basketball and tennis courts, bike and walking trails, picnic areas with pavilions, playgrounds, fishing areas, and beautiful views! If your cookout gets rained out, there is a nice bbq restaurant near the entrance of the park.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cove Lake. The campground has lots of very large trees that provide plenty of shade. The pool was great. It does cost 2.50 for campers to swim all day but worth it. The campground does need lots of maintenance done. Grass needs to be mowed and trees need to be trimmed. Sites need to be leveled and rock added. The back loop offers large sites with easy access to playground which is perfect for kids. Front loop sites are very tight and unlevel. I would have gave it a 4 but maintenance needs to be done. Mowing, weedeating, tree trimming, and some weed killer spray would do a lot. Campground is family friendly.

Cove Lake State Park
It's a pretty nice place as long as you stay in the back loop. Front of campground is very tight and small spaces and very unleveled. The grass needed mowed and trimmed. Trees need trimmed. The spots needed gravel. The pool is very large and nice but had a lot of people there because it is a community pool not just for campers. The pool is only $2.50 for the whole day if your camping. Nice playground and bathhouses.
