Easy Likeable Place
Second time here. We have a 26 ft rv. Sites are a little tight but private. Facilities are clean and modern. Good hiking. Check in was easy. Because of covid. We were directed to go just to the site if we had reservations which we did.

Our first time here in the Lower Lake campground. We stayes in Beechwood lot 415. Lot a little unlevel back to front. Good picnic table and fir rings. Assorted electrical hookups. 50, 30, 20 & 15 amp connections. Spots are a little cramped but there are enough trees to give some privacy depending on what spot you get. We didn't use the bath house but looks good from outside. Common water spigot which is my biggest negative which would kind of stink if you wanted to spend a few days and not just a weekend. Overall we liked it and will come back again.

Traveler's
Can't go wrong camping here. This place has every option of camping possible. Bathrooms are up to date. And on most days very clean. Holidays and weekends all areas are packed but come mid week You can very easily feel like you have the entire place to yourself. Pickerel point area is almost always full being its surrounded by water. They also have cabins and cottages available. There is wildlife in abundance here. Have seen black bears 2 times camping here. There are also eagles in several different areas here. This is truly a great state park. If I can figure out how to post pics I will

The Worst
Two people in the office and they don’t pick up the phone. Office is in the opposite side of the campground. They gave us a site on pickerel, yes it has water and electric but water here is one spigot for everyone and that don’t even work. Since they don’t pick up the phone we showed up without a reservation and it must be common practice for them to nickel and dime you because they still charged us six dollars reservation fee, seriously? we are walk ins. One star for price gouging 38.50 should be reflected here as $$$ and not as a single $ Totally overpriced, no stars deducted Our site wasn’t level and for that kind of money I expect better site. One star for not cleaning fire ring and not being level I hook up to the 30 amp outlet and had to go out 4 times to flip the switch. My rig doesn’t have an electrical problem, at the fourth try I plugged to 50 amp with my converter and that solved the problem. There goes the third star Won’t come back regardless of the name

2nd Time Here
We came back again on our way to Maine this year. Lovely park. Easy to get into but watch that pot hole at the entrance. Staying on space 329. We had to pull in and choose between slides and 50 amp as our cord was not long enough. We chose our slides as the temp is nice. Not a level site for a 36 UA. Had to go up on boards in front. Didn’t want back off the ground. Not much level here. Nice hiking and a lake to kayak on. No water or sewer on site. Water on road and dump station. Last year we had one of the few pull through sites and that was level.

Location Location
The location is awesome. Camped here 2x's as we have drove through. The sites on pickeral pond area are not level and are extremely short. We have a 40'. I'm not picky. I can level our camper preltty easily but for a state park that charges $50+ for a f/u they should invest them to be level. Now I've stayed over at the Beechwood area as well those were all fairly level. Only $5 less for just water and electric. But we needed sewer tonight to do some laundry. It is an easy to into, and easy out park. Straight shot off the highway - office is on your Right. Bathrooms arle clean. Big lake. Look forward to sipping my coffee by it in the morning. Would of had dinner outdoors but started to rain after we tried leveling. Rain won't dampen our fun. Neither will the unlevelness but when you pay this price, a little extra gravel can make a big difference. The gentleman in the office arel extremely helpful. But unlevel sites takes 2 stars away for me. Will I be back, sure, but at beachwood area.
