A Base Camp

The ten tent sites are level and private but are right next to the parking lot and hiking trail On a nice weekend there are hordes of people walking through the campground and the parking lot is overflowing. Mosquitoes are bad. This is a great place to camp if you want to climb up to the summit in a liesurely fashion since it is a long drive to get here and it is a long hike to the top. The road up is bad at the bottom due to log trucks, but gets better as you go up. The map shows saddle mt rd connecting to young's river rd but there is a gate. You can only get up to the parking lot from US 26
