Better Than Expected-Beachside

If you blink you’ll miss the turn into the park. Very small RV park, about 20-25 sites, it’s first come first pick, park then pay. You do have to walk up a hill, then pass some motels to register at gold beach inn. Only 5 minutes walk. Full hook up for $44, paved sites with bench. Small lighthouse on property, beach access with 5 minute walk but beach is right in your backyard. Didn’t try bathroom. RV park will handle 37 and smaller because corners are tight. Ladies at front desk were super helpful and nice.

The people at the front desk, 2 blocks away at the Ireland Inn where you register, were friendly - however, the walk was an inconvenient, unexpected requirement. It would be helpful if a drop box was provided and they could perhaps check it periodically as they serviced the restrooms, which could use some attention (& updating). An intercom or sensor or camera might be helpful for them to know when someone had registered or had questions. I asked about the sign for a AAA discount and they calculated it in. I received my receipt which included a room tax of .70 (they were using the hotel paperwork because they were out of the RV ones) so the rate was $40-$1 (AAA)+.70 room tax, total bill of $39.70. ?? Probably won't select this location next time. I'm not saying everyone would see it the same way. Someone else might like it just fine.

On The Beach

Small RV park tucked in behind motels, but on the water with access to the beach. The sites are cement with dry grass (in summer) and a picnic table. Very basic, not much space between sites, but has full hookups. You get to choose your own site, so get there early for ones on the end with the best views of the ocean. Unfortunately the bathrooms need more attention and cleaning than they are currently getting. Gold Beach is a very small funky beach town, but the people were friendly. Don't expect lots of shopping or many restaurants.
