First Class

Stayed there for a week recently while visiting family in the area. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, the rates are reasonable, and the owners couldn't have been nicer. They purchased this park a couple of years ago and have made a lot of improvements. I will definitely come back.

Stayed Here Numerous Times

We usually stay three weeks each summer to visit family. This is the nicest campground you will find in this area. The grounds sites, and pool are well kept. The new owners are helpful and nice, something I can't say about the previous owner.

I am a sixtyish woman who, with a friend who we camp with, like to see the campground before we make reservations. We drove 1hour and fifteen minutes to see the Dan River Campground. We got there at 1:05 pm on a Friday only to find the office locked until 2:00. I had to be home by 3 to get grands off school bus so we couldn't wait. We decided to leave the car and walk down gravel road to see the sites. Someone was leaf blowing somewhere in the park. After looking at a few sites we saw a man and said hello. He looked at us very hatefully and asked what we were doing there. We explained to him the situation and he said this was private property and he didn't appreciate us coming past the gate. We apologized and he was still belligerent about us being there so we left. Needless to say, we won't be going there and will make sure people know how rude they are there. Some will agree with him, but we didn't think we were doing something wrong as we are not dishonest or disreputable people.
