Great Park
Will always be my choice when visiting Cherokee. Forgot how much I paid for the stay, but stayed a week.

No Cell, No WiFi, No Bathhouse, No No No
No privacy, crammed in even for a koa.
Vehicles parked along road made navigation treacherous.
WiFi was a joke, wouldn’t stay connected and when you did was too slow to do anything.
No AT&T, No Sprint, No T-Mobile (Dunno about Verizon)
Power stand looked like behind the tree in A Christmas Story
Neighbors were having an extended family weekend with 4 extra vehicles between 2 spaces
Wanted to be near facilities but they’re closed for renovations. They were kind enough to park 2 Porta John’s right across from us... :(
Overall not even remotely worth the money

Finally Renovating Some, But I’d Wait
The bath house we opted to park next to is closed for renovations. Would have picked a different spot if we’d known. Our neighbors were practically on top of us and having an extended family weekend with extra vehicles and lots of extra noise
Might have been better somewhere else in the park
Overall I saw other places I’d try before I stop back here again

Small Sites
We gave our size online when making reservations. Arrived checked in. When our guide came to take us to site he said oh you won’t fit in there. He took us there and no way. Site was half our length. He radioed and worked out another site. Took us to it and was oddly shape L shaped. Hook ups far away and a tree so couldn’t put out awning. Phoned myself again and I told them this won’t work. I will pay for a better site. Ended up another $120 to get a delux pull thru

Ok Campground
Of the campgrounds we saw in Cherokee this one was probably the best, but that’s not saying much. Good access to the National Park. There is not a real good way in or out.

Enjoyed
Looks like the koa in Cherokee. We thoroughly enjoyed our 8 day trip there. The river is SO nice! We fished from both the river and the ponds they have on site. It is catch and keep. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because we brought family with us, I brought a pop up camper. We kept both trucks and the pop up on our campsite. We were charged for an extra vehicle and weren't told that we were going to be charged. In fact, some that live and work there said "it's ok" but never mentioned there would be a charge.

Bad Managed Campground
Stayed 3 nights on memorial weekend, campground was in horrible shape, grass not mowed, both pools dirty (one pool shut down for half a day because of broken pump), parks run down and dirty and bathhouse was filthy the whole trip. Will not be back.

It was the only campground open in this area around Thanksgiving. It was ok, but very noisy with slamming doors and vehicle's driving around late. I would think twice about staying here again.

Love It
I stay in the rustic cabins here. Love this KOA! Plenty of fun for everyone. Love the location, trout pond, river sounds, helpful staff. No complaints here

Overnight Stop
A bit far off the beaten path for an overnight. Pull thru was close to the office and amenities, so had great free wifi. I would stay again, if we were going to explore the mountains!

Fishing trip
Came here on a recommendation for trout fishing. DO NOT TRUST YOUR GPS DIRECTIONS! I had to call the campground twice when Tom Tom and Google Maps almost got me lost. The campground staff got me back on track and were very understanding about the issue. The staff was quite friendly and we were escorted to our site and assisted in getting the RV placed on the pad.
The campground is quite level and our site was paved with full hookups, a picnic table, and fire ring. We came for the fishing and did not try the cable TV and didn't worry about satellite or digital TV. Cell phone reception is weak and campground Wi-Fi was pretty much non-existant. The sites are fairly close but it wasn't a problem. The rate indicated includes 10% KOA Value Kard discount and the "resort fee" of $3.50 per day. I would like to return to this campground when the temperatures are a bit warmer but this was a good "first time".
