Great, cool mountain getaway!

The campground is old and needs a little maintenance, but we loved it. Great views, close to Blowing Rock, Boone, and hundreds of hiking trails. Site A32 is a wide back-in site. It is almost level side to side, but falls a little toward the back. The border curb traps water in the back but not too bad. We liked A32 best because it was in a meadow, with lots of sun for our solar panels and not too close to any other sites on the sides or behind it. It is a favorite grazing site for deer at sunrise.

Poor Maintenance

This camp ground is ok, however many of sites not will maintained. Site are small. I had 36 ft travel trailer. Will not fit on most sites. Rangers nice and bathrooms clean.

Showers

Just added showers in loop D

Narrow roads and tiny sites for RV loop. Water is not easily accessible so fill up at dump station before parking. Only a few sites big enough for large rigs. Some sites are almost level, but most are not. The campground is desperately in need of a makeover!! $20/ nite. 1/2 off with senior pass.
