Deserted
Did a drive through; looked safe enough, but very run down, with no services. Decided to move on.

Over Night Enroute
Early January. As mentioned simple no frills. Restrooms closed for winter but there was a porta Jon. Beautiful sunset. Walked the town day dreaming how it must have been.

Free In A Run-down Town
Free camping in a town park that has trash dumpsters and bathrooms. The park itself is well-kept and nicer than expected. There were several other RVs, a tent, van, and a car camper that showed up on a Saturday night in May 2021, so I felt safer than when we first arrived. The town is very run down with abandoned houses and a gas station near the park which made us not want to stay, but it worked for an overnighter.

Well Worth The Little Drive
We were going to stay at The Empty Saddle (now a different name) in Tucumcari based on all the great reviews..but when we got there it looked like an over filled parking lot- so we pressed on to San Jon. There were 2 other overnight campers, the park was quiet and clean, it was FREE and had a far more charming vibe than the over packed Empty Saddle. Very charming and would recommend.

Overnight
Nice little park in the small town of San Jon.
Far enough from interstate that there is no noise. Level areas to park and easy to navigate in and out of, even with a tow vehicle. There are no hookups, but it’s a nice place to dry camp. Like others have said,it’s a very safe feeling area. Wish they had a donation box as I’d chip in to help with their maintenance. No report on their restrooms as I did not use them.

Safe, Free
We were skeptical but this town park was great for a quick overnight. We just pulled in and found a level spot with a picnic table. The park is close to 40 but far enough away we didn't hear any road noise. The restrooms were closed for winter but there was a very clean portajohn.

Quiet And Perfect
Only regret we had was taking out before anything opened. Highly recommend. It was clean, quiet and felt secure.

This was a small, quiet little Park that was excellent for an overnight stop. There was no water electricity or sewer, but it felt safe as there were three other rigs stopped there with us.
The bathroom was closed for the winter, however, we did not need it.
We would definitely stay there again.

Quiet And Free
This is a well kept little park. There are bathrooms but we did not use them. The sites are grassy with picnic tables. Trees for shade, running area for our dog. No water or electricity, but an awesome overnight spot.

Small And Quiet
Small, quiet city park on route 66. Free overnight RV parking, no hookups, but some playground equipment, grills and good cell phone coverage. Poor city is about gone, help em out.
