Great Area
We love chama. We actually intended to stay about 50 miles south, but a fire changed our plans. So glad it did. Lots of trees and shade. The sites are a little tight, but not horrible. We walked into town, very pretty old mining town. Some very good restaurants, and a narrow gauge train that has sight seeing trips through the mountains. Wish we had more time here. Will be back.

Park very nice. Level easy access sites. Staff very nice, friendly and helpful. Close to Chama. Unfortunately much of Chama and train closed. That was ok because we came to kayak river. BLM was suppose to release water every Friday to about 600-800 CFM. Did not do so so water was about 60 CFM. NM currently has approved train to Antonito CO. Colorado has approved train to run to Osier CO. Check status if you plan to ride train.
Still would come back to park.

Love It!!
This has to be one of my favorite RV Parks we have stayed at. The management, staff and neighbors are all so friendly. The park is clean and very shaded and just a short walk from town or to the river. The only issue we have is the bathrooms are not the most accessible. We will definitely be back, as a matter of fact in a couple weeks. Love this place!!!

Friendly, But A Little Scammy
When I called to reserve two days during the week I was told they had one spot left that was $42. When I arrived they told me the only spot they had was a premium spot directly on the river which is more money. That was okay so we took that. once were in the park or realize that at least half of it is empty and stayed empty the entire three days while we were there. As well they had other one night people who they kept placing in the premium riverfront spots when they were plenty of other pull through sites available. So it seems like they're pushing everybody into their premium spots to make more money. And that whole last available site thing is clearly bogus. That said, the park is beautiful with lots of trees although like most commercial Parks you're packed in like sardines. Personally I'll give one of the other parks in the area a try next time.

Fabulous park for everything. Our site is right on the Chama river about 300feet down the river you can watch the Cumbres & Toltec train go by twice a day at 10 and 4. Peaceful and serene with the river here. Loads of trees here and only a short mile walk into town. Love this park!
