Very nice park One lake full other one almost dry.Nice facilities . Our experience is the State Park systems we have used are well kept BUT very challenging to maneuver their websites and reservation sites. With alot of people traveling over 60 there needs to be a simpler way to reserve spots and check for vacancies.!

A Lovely Little Gem
A great stop whether you fish, kayak, or just want a nice get away. The park rents kayaks/paddles and lifevests. We stayed in the full hookup section. All sites are huge and well buffered from neighbors. The other campground has electric and suitable for tenters or small rigs. Very nice staff. Highly recommend..

Great Park
Two campgrounds, both with lakeside sites. Most sites with lots of shade. No full hookup sites, but a good dump station. Nice fishing lakes with kayak and boat rentals. Our site took lots of blocking to get level.

Wonderful Campground
We had beautiful weather which certainly added to the experience. This very family friendly campground was perfect for our family to have a quick weekend away from home. There are two different campgrounds within Wakonda. The Boulder Lake Campground has the majority of the spaces. They are electric hook up only and close together. However, for us this was great as there were lots of kids for our children to play with while at the campground. This campground has beautiful, tall cottonwood trees that give lots of shade. The downside is these camp sites do not have any concrete. That made for quite a bit of sandy dirt tracked everywhere (only downside). This is the perfect place for biking, going on walks, and kayaking. Also, the beach is easy to access. Though it was fairly crowded it was very enjoyable. We will definitely be going back. We hope to get a spot at the other campground within the park which has private direct access to the lake and the spots are full hookup on concrete.

Loved It!
Large FHU site for a very reasonable price. Highway noise kind of loud, but that also makes it an easy on/off if you’re passing through. Park is going through some upgrades right now. Appears popular with kayakers. Surrounded by lakes so views are great. We’ll stop again.

Could be a great camping area, but they are about twice as many sites than they should have. Rest rooms and showers are in bad need of upgrading.
