Free Campsite

We stay at this campground Christmas Day 2020. Bathrooms were closed due to Covid, self contained units only. Pull thru sites. We arrived at dark, next morning drove to overlook, beautiful! Nice, convinet , free!

Wrong Location

This is the wrong location for the Natchez Trace Parkway Campground. The actual camp is much further north.

Great place to stay.

if your doing the Natchez Parkway this is a great spot to spend a night. Very surprised by the size of the pads. all black top easy in easy out. no amenities but so what. this is a free campground. thank you

Nice No-frills Free Campground

Good place for boondocking, but get there early. Some sites are level, but some are not. Some sites are large, but others are very close together. Ours was a strange pull through with two sites on the same pull-through driveway. This meant that if you didn't park toward the front of the drive, which was most unlevel, you could be blocked in by person in front of you (we were towing and couldn't back up, so couldn't risk being blocked, thus took the unlevel front section). Restroom floors looked like not mopped in weeks. We didn't see anyone who looked like they were trying to settle in for overstaying. There is a very nice, long, uphill trail that is accessed roughly across the street from the restroom. The trail goes up to Jeff Busby park, one of the highest points in MS at a whopping 603 ft! It is worth the hike to see the ancient, anglo-centric history interpretive signs at the top of the park. After setting up we found our site didn't have a fire pit, but the one next to us did.

Nice Place On A Great Parkway

Massive Paved pull-throughs, clean, trash, bathrooms, water and all FREE.

Peaceful Free Campground.

A nice spot after a beautiful drive on the Trace. Pull through spaces paved with picnic tables fire ring and grills, in the woods right off the parkway. Bathrooms too. 14 day max stay. First come first served.
